Lacoste

Most recognisable by its little green crocodile, the Lacoste brand is named after its founder, Rene Lacoste who was named ‘The Crocodile’ due to his tenacity on the tennis court.

Founded in 1933, the French label creates footwear, perfume and clothing such as the infamous polo shirts that became a signature ‘preppy’ wardrobe item in the 80’s.

In 2005, Lacoste also experienced a surge in popularity due to an upscale look by French designer, Christophe Lemaine. Earning contracts with tennis players; Andy Roddick, Richard Gasquet and Swiss Olympic gold medallist, Stanislas Wawrinka – sports has always been in the blood of the little green crocodile.

Most recently, the brand has edged its way into golf sponsoring the likes of two times Masters Tournament champion, Jose Maria Olazabal.
