Asics was originally founded as the Onitsuka company, with the namesake basketball shoes being a massive success in the 50’s and 60’s. When Phil Knight founded Nike in the early 60’s, it was to sell these shoes in the US, so this is a brand with plenty of sportswear history going in to their clothing!
