10 Reasons to Buy Designer Vintage Clothing
Vintage fashion has always been floating along near the top of the trend list. There has never been a moment after someone says: “Thanks it’s vintage!” that has been met with a negative response. Vintage is awesome for many, many reasons (some that we’re about it outline), particularly designer vintage clothing.
We’re very proud of our selection of vintage garms here at Messina Hembry and we love encouraging customers who perhaps haven’t considered the benefits of buying vintage clothing in the past, to invest in some beautiful pieces that are rarely found in such good condition.

There are many environmental advantages surrounding the vintage clothing market. By buying a vintage product, you’re up-cycling these clothes, giving them a new lease of life. This way, masses of good quality clothes won’t end up in landfills around the world.
The manufacturing of mass clothing uses up a huge amount of energy and fuel which isn’t good the planet or the people on the planet – particularly those in third world countries who tend to be the ones working in the factories and thus being exposed to the fumes. These factories are often unsafe and exploitative environments for the workers, so by buying vintage, you are eradicating your participation in this.

Cheaper
Buying vintage is significantly cheaper than buying first designer hand clothes. Rather than paying £200 for that Gucci shirt you HAVE to have, get it vintage for £20 – blooming bargain!
You’ll also find that many designer vintage pieces are actually cheaper than regular high street items, despite their prestigious label.

Unique Items
The items of clothing we sell are non mass produced items – ones that are no longer available to buy other than at vintage shops. All of our stock is limited (once it’s gone it’s gone!) so whilst we also have a constant stream of brilliant pieces coming in, we don’t get two of the same. Not only does this mean that you won’t be rocking up in the same outfit as anyone else, but also you have the satisfaction of knowing that your clothing is as unique and special as you are.
