Imitation is the biggest form of flattery. Taking the styles of other people and making them our own is half the fun of fashion. By using other people as inspiration for your own style, you get to combine two styles together and create something new and amazing.

These days it’s very easy to find outfit inspiration from the shops that sell the clothes – Instagram is full of beautiful shots of carefully thought together outfits that encourage you to buy all the latest trends. However, there is less inspiration out there in social world to give you inspiration on vintage designer clothing. As these products are most likely not stocked by the designer shops anymore, you’re unlikely to find outfit styles that you yourself can imitate with your own vintage clothes.

1. Vintage Calvin Klein

The iconic Kate Moss is known for rocking one of the most sexiest looks seen in Calvin Klein advert history. You can imitate her simple but striking vintage Calvin look by simply throwing on a cropped jumper with a pair of loose Mom Jeans and a selection of long beaded necklaces.

2. Vintage Burberry

Classy, classic and timeless, a Burberry item is an item for life. Here we have women and mens vintage Burberry coats. A super easy look to create for this coming winter and in neutral colours making it easy to work with a number of different under outfits.

3. Vintage Ralph Lauren

Who could not want to imitate the look of this 80s' stud?! This gorgeous, simple and somewhat nautical look can be achieved with either a denim jacket or heavy denim shirt with one or two light blue t-shirts underneath. Rep the light stripy trousers by investing in a pair of chinos or even light jeans and accessorise with a fabric belt or if you want to go all out, twist an old tie and use that!

4. Vintage Jack Wills

Jack Wills is another fairly classic designer that has always help to make vintage looks cool. Most of their stock is timeless and suitable for variety of styles and fashion eras! Here we have a simple stripy dress paired with a pair of big glasses that are at the height of fashion this year. We love this beautifully effortless look that is so easy to imitate that we don't have even have to suggest how!

5. Vintage DKNY

It's no secret that denim never dies - it will always be in fashion which makes denim a safe option when buying it as a vintage item. This super cool look by DKNY epitomises all that's awesome about double denim. This casual and sexy look can be achieved by matching a light denim shirt with a pair of loose bootleg jeans with turn-up ankles.
